I can't believe anyone is defending the use of torture or saying it works better than smart interrogation techniques. Cheney and his kind made the terrorists' lies about us true. His fear made us less secure. Their "harsh tactics" are war crimes, just like those we hung Japanese officers for. It is disgusting to see our values, that men died for, discarded in secret by men who were too afraid to fight when called.
